I was born August 7th, 1971 at the Medical Center of USC, Los Angeles, California. I grew up in San Dimas, California. It’s quiet for the most part and a good solid town to grow up in. I attended Allen Avenue Elementary, Lone Hill Intermediate and then San Dimas High School. I graduated in 1989, and due to financial difficulties, I was not able to attend college. I have attended classes and such, but still haven’t taken the time to apply myself to get any degree. Something I plan to change in the near years to come.
I now live in San Dimas, California and am in a wonderful relationship with a beautiful young lady named Deana. I don't have kids of my own, but I have been graced with the opportunity to be a special part in the life of Deana’s daughter, Aurora. They both brighten my day, and keep me in a wonderful state of mind.
I really wasn’t into the whole “school scene” until my high school days, where I became heavily involved in the Drama Department. My senior year, I was in two plays, “Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hide” and “The Butler Did It.” It was a lot of fun being involved scholastically, which was something I never thought I would ever say. I was an average grading student, and didn’t receive my first grade above C in English until my senior year, where I found my calling in writing short stories and such. That was the year I received my first A in English.
When I was around 24, I “seriously” began writing short stories and poetry. The poetry was because I wanted to impress a young lady that I had an eye for. Well, she wasn’t impressed with my poems one bit, but I enjoyed it so much I kept at it. I joined an online poetry site AllPoetry.com, when a friend of mine told me about it a few years back. I figured it was a good way to see if I really had talent or not. Over the past years I have met some extraordinary people that I consider really good friends.
After being on the site for a while, I was asked to be involved with the Adopt-A-Poet Foundation. I really enjoy helping people out, so I figured it was one more way to go about it. I was made Executive Manager, which means I got to handle all the heartaches and such from disgruntled members. Luckily with the team I had, I didn’t have to do much of that at all, but it did come up every now and then.
Before long after that, I joined the Greeter Team. It was an awesome thing, because I got to meet even more people from all over the world. Shortly after joining the Greeter Team, I was given the extreme pleasure of becoming the Greeter Coordinator and finally felt like I belonged to that site even more so than I ever had. Since then, I have met even more people from all over the globe and am so grateful to my friend for turning me onto the site.
For over 14 years I have been a Sponsor for an Alateen Group in Pomona, California. It’s a program for children of alcoholics / drug addicts. Being able to give those kids a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen to them is a very humbling experience, especially when I think my life has gone to crap. I have been very fortunate to have some truly awesome kids come through the doors that I have learned from. They have become a very big part of my life.
I have also been heavily involved within my own Al-Anon program for more than 20 years. In those years, I have been of service on the group level with different responsibilities. Currently, I am the Web Coordinator for the Inland Empire Al-Anon Service Board. I have also been an Alateen Co-Sponsor for a couple conventions, Alateen Area Coordinator, Area World Service Liaison, Service Board Chairman, Service Board Ex-Officio, as well as the Al-Anon Chairman of the 2007 IEAAC convention in the Inland Empire. To say that my life has been full is an understatement. But it keeps me out of trouble…………most of the time.
